Lewis-Manning Hospice Care is delighted to receive the first ever ‘Care South Chairman’s 2020 Fund’. The local hospice charity has been awarded £2,000 after being nominated by Care South’s Chief Executive, Simon Bird and agreed by the Fund’s Committee

Simon nominated Lewis-Manning to receive this amazing grant in support of the charity’s essential hospice care services that it provides to local people across Poole, Purbeck and East Dorset.

The Care South 2020 Chairman’s Fund has been established with the aim of benefiting Care South employees, volunteers and community groups who provide a community service to its homes, care at home offices, clients or residents. It is “Supporting Care South’s Friends”.

CEO at Lewis-Manning Hospice Care, Clare Gallie, said, “We are thrilled and honoured to be the first organisation to receive this prestigious grant and want to thank Simon for nominating Lewis-Manning and to Care South in awarding the charity with this fantastic sum of money. Our partnership with the care homes and entire organisation is flourishing, which is fantastic to be part of. They share the same values as Lewis-Manning Hospice Care and long may this collaborative partnership continue, so that we can help more people and their loved ones in our community.”

Care South’s Chief Executive, Simon Bird, commented: “The Chairman’s 2020 Fund was set up to enable us to give back to the community, support those who support us and it is great to be able to award this grant to such a purposeful charity which sits at the heart of this community.  The two charities, Care South and Lewis-Manning Hospice Care share very similar values, which is why we are so pleased to support the incredible work that they do locally.”
