Do you want to make a difference? Do you want to spend more time with your patients? At Lewis-Manning Hospice Care we pride ourselves in allowing our nurses the opportunity to ‘take time to care’ and really connect with the patients that they are caring for.
Who are we and what do we do? Lewis-Manning Hospice Care is an independent charity that offers holistic care to local people living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, and support for their carers. We are now in an exciting new phase of development, taking our services to and nearer to people’s homes. We have moved our new base to the centre of Poole, and are extending services to satellites hubs throughout the locality. We offer a Lymphoedema service, Family Support and Bereavement service, Virtual and Day Hospice services, Better Breathing clinics and are expanding our services with a Clinical Complementary Therapy service. The lymphoedema service has been well established over 25 years. We offer support and care to patients who are suffering with lymphoedema caused by cancer and/or its treatments.
What our nurses say about working with us: “We have time to care and are able to connect with our patients” “I love the regular day time hours, allowing me to work flexibly around my family” “A brilliant team to work with and I am able to connect with colleagues across the whole organisation”
Experience We are looking for an assistant to join our Lymphoedema team. You will already have experience of working in a hands-on clinical health care environment providing treatments or therapies, preferably with some experience of cancer care. Some knowledge of lymphoedema would be ideal but more important is a keen interest and a willingness to learn. You will need to be able to work flexibly and be prepared to travel with us to our mobile unit and/or other location as required. You will play a key role in continuing to offer high quality care to all our patients and your passion for high quality clinical care and governance awareness will be high and your interpersonal and communication skills outstanding. You will be IT confident and have experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams. We very much look forward to hearing from you and the possibility of you joining our well-respected team.
