Lewis-Manning Hospice Care provides exceptional palliative care to local people living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses and their carers across East Dorset and Purbeck. The Hospice is now embarking on a new strategy for the future. This exciting phase of development plans to take our hospice day care and clinical services closer to patients’ homes by opening satellite centres across East Dorset and Purbeck complementing our existing Poole based service. This important post will be key to ensuring that our hospice operations are effective and compliant.

This role is a key member of the hospice’s Operations team. Reporting to and supporting the Operations and Compliance Manager, this role will work across all aspects of the organisation’s operational and compliance management. The main responsibilities of this role will be to ensure the smooth running and coordination of the Poole Hospice office and administration, including cover for and support of Reception. The Office Coordinator will support departments across the organisation with operational activities, including retail administration support. It will also support internal audit and monitoring; compliance with health and social care legislation and regulation relating to the hospice and coordination of policy updates in accordance with strict timetables. This role will provide significant support in many diverse areas including data protection and GDPR compliance; estates management; supplier contract management; health and safety, fire and first aid compliance; and risk assessments.

Your literacy and communication skills will be outstanding, with an ability to prioritise a varied workload and to work effectively under pressure meeting strict deadlines. You will be IT proficient, especially in Microsoft packages, with excellent attention to detail. You will have a proven track record of accuracy and efficiency and an ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

You will have previous experience and knowledge of operations and compliance, preferably in a charity and/or a healthcare environment and ideally will be a qualified first aider.
