Lewis-Manning Hospice Care has opened a new retail House Clearance Shop in Ringwood, on Southampton Road in the town centre. The local community were invited along to the celebratory event, enjoying refreshments and the opportunity to be impressed with the brand-new shop. Cutting the ribbon was the town’s Mayor, Cllr Gareth DeBoos, accompanied by his Consort, Cllr Mary DeBoos and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Rae Frederick.

The hospice’s new store is opening due to the ever-growing demand for its house clearance services, as well as the increased need to raise vital funds for its charity services.

The Mayor said, “What a shop, packed full of fantastic and sustainable bargains, definitely worth a visit, it’s a brilliant addition to the town and it’s been a real honour being asked along today to officially open it.”

Director of Retail Susan Newcombe advised, “It was a great occasion opening our 8th hospice shop today. Our team and the contractors have put their heart and soul into making the new shop as spectacular as it can be.

“We believe that our shops are not just somewhere you can pick up a bargain or drop off your preloved items. They’re a place you can come to find out more about our services, fundraising events, volunteering, and a place for you to recycle your preloved things and prevent them going to landfill, helping to save the planet!

“Special thanks must go to the team of incredibly skilled people who have helped to build our shop; Bradlea Builders, MBE electricians, Talis Surveying, Karndean Flooring, Howdens in Ringwood and Frettens Solicitors. And, of course, a huge thank you to the Mayor and his consort for opening the shop.”
Su concluded, “Moving, downsizing or house clearing may be a very stressful time, and our aim is to reduce that stress as much as possible. We can offer flexible, complete or partial house clearances and recycling services. For your free no-obligation quote, or to ask any questions you might have, give us a call today on 01202 119310 or email house.clearance@lewis-manning.org.uk
“If you have a few hours to spare and would like to be part of the shop team, please have a look at our volunteering roles at lewis-manning.org.uk/volunteer-vacancies.”

Lewis-Manning Hospice Care’s other shops are located in Poole, Ashley Cross, Christchurch, Swanage, Westbourne, Winton & Wimborne.

Every year we support around 600 local people and we develop new services, based on patient need and identified gaps in the area. This year we need your help to raise £3.4m to continue providing our important services in your community. Without these funds we could not exist.

Our important work increases people’s physical and social well-being, reduces isolation and loneliness, supports people to stay in their homes longer, and alleviates the huge pressures on family and carers.

“When we are born, we are wrapped up in a blanket and put in the safe hands of someone who will love and support us for the rest of our lives.
What Lewis-Manning Hospice Care has done for me, now I am reaching the end of my life, is wrap me up in a big warm blanket, support and care for me and my family at the end of my life journey
and for that I will be forever, eternally grateful.” LMHC patient feedback
