Lewis-Manning Hospice Care urgently needs to raise £283,000 to deliver an innovative ‘Hospice at Home’ service in Purbeck.

Far too many people are rushed to hospital near the end of their lives and are dying in hospital when they would rather die in the comfort of their own home, surrounded by loved ones. So many are diagnosed as palliative and then are left, with little support or care, until there is a crisis. People are feeling anxious, lonely, isolated and lacking in confidence and self-esteem.

Lewis-Manning has developed a solution to address this. And we need YOUR help to deliver this.

Our Purbeck Hospice at Home service offers:

  • Support from the point of a palliative diagnosis onwards so no one ever feels alone
  • Regular home visits
  • Respite sits for carers
  • Counselling for patients and family members
  • Support of our Breathlessness physiotherapist at home
  • Access to day hospice and virtual hospice services
  • Support from our Occupational Therapist with equipment and solutions to help people stay living at home
  • Creative art opportunities in people’s homes
  • Complementary therapies at home

This service is already making such a difference to the lives of local people and given the pressures on the NHS, it is desperately needed. We cannot continue to run this service unless we raise £283,000 by Autumn 2024.

Local supporters have already pledged generous donations to help make this happen.
