Complementary therapy is an alternative treatment technique used to improve a person’s physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. We offer treatments in our Day Hospice hubs and in patient’s homes.

Our complementary therapists believe that in order to perform complementary therapy effectively, the senses first need to be stimulated. We aim to create an immersive experience for our patients which takes them on a sensory journey. It is important to us that our patients are provided with a safe space to experience the power of touch and time to relax. All our treatments are holistic and are important to our patients, whether it’s a short hand massage, or a full experience, we are here for you.

Complementary therapy offered by lewis manning:

  • Aromatherapy massages
  • Foot massage and Reflexology
  • Seated and Laughing yoga
  • Reiki
  • Indian head massage
  • Guided meditation and mindfulness
  • Virtual exercise and wellbeing sessions

Who can come & how do I get referred?

You will need to be registered with a GP surgery within East Dorset and have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. We may discuss your care with your GP, with your permission, before you attend.

You can be referred for Complementary Therapy by yourself or any health care professional directly linked to your care.

Will I be charged for this service?

There is no cost to the patient to receive Complementary Therapy but we encourage people to donate however much they can, so that we can keep offering our extraordinary palliative care. As a registered charity, we rely heavily on the local community’s help, support and donations to keep Lewis-Manning Hospice Care running as we only receive 21% funding from the NHS.
