Volunteer Roles

Clinical
As a volunteer for Lewis-Manning’s Clinical Team, you will be helping us within the hospice, supporting day hospice sessions and providing companionship to patients, through arts and crafts groups by offering a friendly helping hand.

Fundraising
As a fundraising volunteer, no two days are the same! Our fundraising team organise a range of fantastic events across the year, from tea parties to the popular ‘Candles on the Lake’ event. As a fundraising volunteer, you will be helping to raise awareness, set up and support our fundraising events across Dorset.

Therapy
If you are qualified and have experience as a complementary therapist or counsellor, we would love to hear from you. As a volunteer therapist or counsellor, you will be providing patients with a life-limiting illness and their loved ones some relaxation and pampering or a safe space to talk about their experiences.

Charity Shops
Not only do we rely on the generosity of our amazing local community to donate their preloved items to our charity shops, but we also depend on our wonderful volunteers to ensure our shops run smoothly and customers are happy. With your fantastic help, we can continue to offer shop visitors a warm welcome into a treasure chest of fabulous bargains.

Drivers
Our retail van drivers play a significant role in ensuring our charity shops are stocked with fabulous preloved items, or maybe you would prefer to volunteer as a patient driver. Patient drivers offer patients a free and safe journey from their homes to the Hospice in Poole or satellite clinics in Wimborne or Swanage.

Admin
As an administration volunteer, you will kindly support us behind the scenes. This would cover a range of admin tasks from scanning and filing to assisting with database input and money counting. There is so much for you to get involved within the office and we would love you to be part of it.

Receptionist
As a reception volunteer, you will be the first face our patients and visitors see when visiting the hospice. If you are a people-person who can offer our visitors a sincerely warm welcome, we would love you to join our extraordinary volunteers team.

Befriender
Volunteer Befrienders provide friendship and companionship to patients in their own home. If you are compassionate, a good listener, patient and understanding, we would love you to get in touch and help to brighten someone’s day.
