Lewis-Manning Hospice Care is delighted to be part of the ‘Dorset Palliative Care – Developing and Delivering Education’ task and finish group.

This group has been set up by Dorset Clinical Commissioners to develop and deliver an education package for GP Primary Care Networks in Dorset. Once completed the group will review and identify potential other opportunities to develop a consistent education package across Dorset. The group will report to the Dorset Palliative Care Steering Group.

The group objectives are as follows:

  • To understand the current need for education for the PCNs across Dorset.
  • To design and recommend a training package to meet the needs identified.
  • To deliver the training package with support.
  • To identify a site to host the training package.
  • To enable collaborative working across Dorset.

  • Nausea & vomiting
  • Community Management of COVID at end-of-life
  • Hiccups
  • Lymphoedema
  • Renal failure
  • Cardiac Failure
  • Pain – assessment
  • Pain – opiates
  • Pain – adjuvants
  • Pain – non malignant
  • Care of the elderly
  • MND
  • Breathlessness
  • Diabetes
