How it works:

If you would like to request a quote, here is what to expect:

  1. Fill in the form to provide us with your details.
  2. We will contact you to arrange a FREE visit to do an appraisal and answer any questions.
  3. We will visit the property to assess the items we can take to sell or items to dispose of.
  4. We will email you a FREE quote.
  5. If you are happy with your quote, contact us and we’ll ask for payment in advance so that we can secure your preferred house clearance date.

Your Gift Aid Agency Agreement

I wish Lewis-Manning Hospice Care (Retail) Ltd to act as my agent in offering my goods for sale, at a charge of 2% commission plus VAT which shall be deducted from the proceeds of sale.

The goods which I am offering to Lewis-Manning Hospice Care (Retail) Ltd are my own to give and do not belong to another household.

I am not acting as a business in bringing goods in for sale to any Lewis-Manning Hospice Care (Retail) Ltd shop.

As legal and beneficial owner of the goods until they are sold, I understand that I have the right to keep all of the net proceeds of the sale but can choose to donate all or part of the proceeds, if I wish.

I confirm that I am at least 18 years old and understand that this agency agreement is a legally binding contract.

I understand that if Lewis-Manning Hospice Care (Retail) Ltd are unable to sell any of the goods they will have the right to dispose of the goods as they see fit.

I agree that Lewis-Manning Hospice Care (Retail) Ltd will not be responsible for any loss or damage to any goods brought into the shop for sale.

I agree that Lewis-Manning Hospice Care (Retail) Ltd will NOT write to me to confirm donations, if the total value of the money raised, after deduction of Commission and VAT (Net Sales Proceeds), from the sale of my goods in any tax year is equal to or less than £1,000 and the Net Sales Proceeds will be treated as a donation to Lewis-Manning Hospice Care (Retail) Ltd.

I understand that as Lewis-Manning Hospice Care (Retail) Ltd apply a de minimis limit that they will send me an annual letter subject to the Net Sales Proceeds reaching £20 in a single tax year, or every three years whichever comes first, even if monies raised are less than £1,000, detailing the Net Sales Proceeds and Gift Aid reclaimed in that tax year. I also understand that an end of year tax letter can be supplied on request.

I understand that Lewis-Manning Hospice Care (Retail) Ltd WILL send me an end of tax year letter, even if monies raised are less than £1,000, detailing the Net Sales Proceeds and Gift Aid reclaimed in that tax year.

Lewis-Manning Hospice Care (Retail) Ltd may vary the terms of this Agreement at any time by written notice to me. Either I or Lewis-Manning Hospice Care (Retail) Ltd may terminate
this Agreement at any time by written notice.

How much does it cost?

The cost of our house clearance service varies, but the average is between £400 and £900. When calculating your quote, we consider things like: 

  • driver and van costs  
  • the location of the property 
  • the size of the clearance required
  • costs we must pay to dispose of items like mattresses, white goods and TVs  
  • the amount of waste 
  • if you need us to pack your items 
  • the value of any saleable items

Items we cannot take

There are certain items we cannot take for legal and health and safety reasons: 

  • oil/chemicals/medical waste 
  • explosives/ammunition/weapons 
  • petrol/fuel/petrol machinery 
  • asbestos 
  • gas/compressed bottles 
  • building materials
  • garden waste
  • insect/vermin infected items
