Chief Executive Officer
Clare has a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, but always wanted to be part of an organisation that reflects her values and when a role came up as Regional Manager at Macmillian Cancer Support she was delighted to join this well respected charity at the age of 24. Having progressed quickly to become Head of Fundraising at Cancer Research and then Head of UK Fundraising for CLIC Sargent, after 9 years Clare moved onto Directorial roles at Tenovus Cancer Care and St. Margaret’s Hospice Care, before becoming CEO of Lewis-Manning Hospice Care.
Clare volunteers as a Trustee for national childhood bereavement charity Winston’s Wish, and says that she feels very lucky to have had the opportunity to be a part of some inspiring organisations and truly amazing teams. Clare’s family originally come from Dorset and she has four children who keep her busy in her spare time.
Director of Clinical Services
Ruth trained at St Thomas’ Hospital in London and followed her interest in oncology to the Royal Marsden Hospital. After her time there she switched to palliative care in the Support Team at the Royal Free Hospital and later, as Team Leader, at St Bartholomew’s. Ruth’s career then took her to Biella, Italy, where she set up a hospice before returning to UK in 2004 as Director of Nursing at Weldmar Hospicecare in Dorchester.
She was then invited to become Interim Director of Nursing for Lewis-Manning Hospice Care and we are delighted that Ruth has now become our Director of Clinical Services.
Director of Fundraising
Tom started his career in the commercial world, as Business Development Manager for Vodafone, after just over 6 years there he moved into the charity sector and started at St Margaret’s Hospice Care, as their Supporter Development Manager.
After three years he was promoted to Head of Supporter Care and Individual Giving, before joining Lewis-Manning Hospice Care as Director of Fundraising.
Director of Finance & Operations
Alison has worked mainly in the investment industry for most of her career. She previously has been Director of Operations for an investment management company and has also been a Commercial Director for a local IT company.
She runs a property management company, as well as teaching maths and preparing accounts for local businesses, acting as a business “angel”.
