The hospice charity hosts the event in partnership with Arts University Bournemouth and features only pre-loved and repurposed clothing
Dorset’s independent charity, Lewis-Manning Hospice Care, is set to host a sustainable fashion show at the Porsche Centre in Ferndown on Thursday 18th September 2025. The hospice charity has partnered with Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) to create a brand-new collection, ‘Trash to Treasure’ specifically for the show.
AUB’s BA (Hons) Fashion and BA (Hons) Textiles students have transformed garments from Lewis-Manning’s Winton charity shop into 15 bespoke, never-seen-before looks, to be debuted at the event. The show will conclude with a striking finale, featuring Bridgerton-style dresses designed and created by AUB’s BA (Hons) Costume students earlier this year for Hurn Court Opera’s recent production of La Cenerentola.
Alongside the fashion show, attendees are offered the chance to browse and purchase a range of premium high-street and designer goods at discounted prices. Items of new Boden clothing have been generously donated by Johnnie Boden himself, while locally based Loved Not Lost presents a range of preloved items for purchase on the night.
Clare Gallie, CEO of Lewis-Manning Hospice Care, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled that so many people and organisations have stepped forward to support our first sustainable fashion show. I have no doubt it’s going to be a remarkable evening that celebrates creativity and style, while also highlighting the importance of sustainability and fighting fast fashion.
“It’s important to us that our fundraising events create new and different opportunities for our community to enjoy. Our upcoming fashion show is no different, and the funds raised will go a long way towards helping us provide person-centred hospice care, that is always free to the patient.”
Lewis-Manning would like to thank the event’s headline sponsor Marston Holdings, as well as Luxe Florea and Esra Gunputh for helping to co-ordinate the show.
General admission tickets are priced at £25 and include a welcome drink on arrival. All proceeds from the event will go directly towards Lewis-Manning’s vital services, which provide free care and support for more than 1,200 people and their families each year across East Dorset, Purbeck, and Poole.
