Bereavement
At Lewis-Manning Hospice Care our Bereavement team are here to offer emotional support to anyone who is struggling, following a death.
If a family member, partner or close friend/colleague has died, it can have an impact on your emotional wellbeing.
We are here to help!
What support is available?
- One-to-one sessions either face to face, virtually or over the telephone for all adults, children and young people.
- Family group sessions.
- Monthly support group.
Groups
The Bereavement Group is held on the first Friday of every month from 10am-12pm at St Mary’s Church Centre, Longfleet Road.
The Carer’s group is held on the second Friday of the month from 10am-12pm at St Mary’s Church Centre, Longfleet Road.
What to Expect
- A safe space for you to talk about your thoughts, feelings, and concerns.
- An authentic listening ear.
- Full acceptance.
- A non-judgemental practitioner.
- Guidance, support, and signposting if required.

Will I be charged for this service?
There is no cost to the patient to use our Family Support & Bereavement Service but we encourage people to donate however much they can, so that we can keep offering our extraordinary palliative care. As a registered charity, we rely heavily on the local community’s help, support and donations to keep Lewis-Manning Hospice Care running as we only receive 21% funding from the NHS.
