Traditionally healthcare providers involved in palliative care focus their support and treatment on patients’ ‘end of life’ stage of their journey. However, Lewis-Manning Hospice Care is different. We can spend quality time with you and your loved ones at the beginning of your journey, at point of a palliative diagnosis and throughout, supporting you and your loved ones.

We have nurses working at Lewis-Manning with close links to GPs, district nurses, community matrons, and specialist palliative care teams. This enables us to help signpost you and support you to other services should you need us to.

Our nurses are experienced in supporting patients with palliative and life limiting conditions and associated problems that this can bring.

we are here to listen and help with:

  • What matters most to you
  • Concerns and anxieties
  • Increasing understanding about your illness and prognosis
  • Your wishes for end-of-life care, including preferred place of care, as well as your views about the levels of intervention and treatments

Hospice at Home means we can bring all of our services to you, in the comfort of your own home or care home, across purbeck and east dorset.

All patients will be assessed individually and directed to the appropriate services offered at Lewis-Manning, including:

Will I be charged for this service?

There is no cost to the patient to receive Hospice at Home but we encourage people to donate however much they can, so that we can keep offering our extraordinary palliative care. As a registered charity, we rely heavily on the local community’s help, support and donations to keep Lewis-Manning Hospice Care running as we only receive 21% funding from the NHS.
