Sixth form student, Lilly, recently volunteered with our Marketing and Fundraising team! We asked her a few questions about her week with us…
Q1) What did you enjoy most about your work experience at Lewis-Manning?
I thoroughly enjoyed the broad range of life at lewis manning that I got to explore, from working with the marketing team to film social media content to visiting the poole shop and learning how it works behind the scenes it was great to get such a vast view.
Q2) Was there anything that surprised you or that you learned about how a charity shops operates?
The way in which stock is rotated between all the lesson manning shops was something I found very interesting, I definitely wouldn’t have thought that the process was so logistical!
Q3) What would you say to someone else thinking about volunteering?
I would say go for it! I highly enjoyed my time at lewis manning and the help you offer is really valued- no matter where within the charity you volunteer!
Q4) Has this experience helped shape any thoughts about your future plans — at school or beyond? My time with Olivia and Emily in the Marketing team really did reassure me that this is what i want to do post-18. It was a truly enlightening experience, and I just want to say thank you again for having me!
