Valerie, our volunteer receptionist/administrator recently enjoyed a well-deserved getaway to Marlow, Buckinghamshire, as part of her Room to Reward recognition. Valerie’s daughter, Rachel, joined her for this special trip, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Valerie chose Marlow as the destination because of its significance to their family—it had been over 30 years since their last visit! The trip became a nostalgic journey, allowing them to relive cherished childhood memories while enjoying a scenic walk along the River Thames. The weekend was made even more special by the perfect weather, allowing them to watch the local rowing club in action.
Their hotel stay was nothing short of spectacular. The stunning property, reminiscent of a castle, provided the ultimate retreat. From the moment the staff realized Valerie was their ‘Celebrity Guest,’ they received the royal treatment! One of the highlights of their stay was indulging in a luxurious Afternoon Tea, a rare opportunity for mother and daughter to spend quality time together. They also took full advantage of the hotel’s spa, enjoying a tranquil swim and unwinding in peaceful surroundings.
This well-earned break was a wonderful way to show appreciation for Valerie’s dedication, giving her a chance to relax, recharge, and simply enjoy the moment. It was heart-warming to hear from Rachel just how much the experience meant to her mum—seeing her smile beam with joy was truly priceless.
