Creative Arts & Wellbeing Support is a fantastic way for patients to express themselves and communicate in a different way, that they may find hard to verbalise. Art therapy can be used to help people come to terms with the complex issues that can arise after being diagnosed with a life limiting illness. It’s also a great way to socialise with other like-minded people and have fun at the same time!

You may benefit from art therapy if:

  • You are finding life difficult following your diagnosis or treatment
  • You have anxiety
  • You are feeling unhappy or annoyed
  • You feel like you no longer have control
Creative Arts & Wellbeing Support runs everyday throughout the week and is welcome to all patients with life-limiting illnesses in East Dorset. There are a variety of art materials that participants can use, from painting to model making. Artwork is displayed within the day hospice area for people to admire and occasionally get included in local art exhibitions.

Will I be charged for this service?

There is no cost to the patient to attend our Creative Arts & Wellbeing Support but we encourage people to donate however much they can, so that we can keep offering our extraordinary palliative care. As a registered charity, we rely heavily on the local community’s help, support and donations to keep Lewis-Manning Hospice Care running as we only receive 21% funding from the NHS.
