Lewis-Manning Hospice Care is thrilled to announce its partnership with Room to Reward as part of the organisation’s ongoing Volunteer Reward and Recognition Strategy.

Volunteer Manager, Lyndsey Howard said, “This exciting initiative allows us to show our appreciation for our dedicated volunteers, who so generously give their time to make a significant impact on the lives of those in need within our community, allowing us to provide extraordinary care and support to the patients and families that we support across Poole, Purbeck, East Dorset, Bournemouth, Christchurch and West Hampshire.”

“Room to Reward is a unique charity initiative which provides complimentary short breaks for charity volunteers. The programme collaborates with hotel partners who offer unsold rooms to create well-deserved escapes, allowing charities like Lewis-Manning Hospice Care to thank and celebrate the commitment of volunteers.”

Each year, Lewis-Manning Hospice Care has the opportunity to offer six volunteer reward breaks, with three spots for volunteers nominated by staff and three awarded to long-serving volunteers.

This year, our honourees include:

  • Christina – Day Hospice Volunteer, 19 years of service
  • Christina – Day Hospice Volunteer, 16 years of service
  • Jenny– Day Hospice Volunteer, 14 years of service
  • Glenn – Volunteer Retail Assistant at the Winton Shop (staff nomination)
  • Valerie – Administration Volunteer (staff nomination)
  • Su – Volunteer Retail Assistant at the Wimborne Shop (staff nomination)

Valerie, one of the selected volunteers, shared her appreciation, “When I was nominated, it was really humbling. I volunteer to help others, not for myself, so to receive this recognition is incredibly special. I’m deeply touched by the hospice staff’s kindness and consideration. I have already booked a stay at Danesfield House Hotel in Marlow on Thames with my daughter, where we’ll enjoy precious family time together. This is a lovely opportunity, and I’m so looking forward to it.”
