Tim Goodson and Dr Kate Smeaton step up in Trustee roles at Lewis-Manning Hospice Care

Lewis-Manning Hospice Care has announced two new roles within the Charity’s Board of Trustees.  Existing Trustee Tim Goodson will be stepping up to Deputy Chair of the Board.   Dr Kate Smeaton will be joining as a new Trustee to the Board.

Kate is a GP at Littledown Surgery and also works at Forest Holme Hospice in Poole as a speciality Doctor.

Dr Kate Smeaton said, “I am delighted to be able to join the Board of Trustees at Lewis-Manning Hospice Care.  This charity does so much in the community to support patients and their loved ones at such a challenging time in their lives. It was an honour to be asked, and I look forward to being part of the charity’s future.”

Tim, who has a wealth of experience in the healthcare sector is an experienced NHS Board Member, System Leader, Company Director and qualified CCAB Accountant, with a proven track record of supporting and advising Boards. He has led a transformational clinical service review attracting capital investment, was accountable for £1.6bn health delivery budget. He is a respected Chief Executive Officer and Director of Finance and is currently Executive Officer at the Dorset GP Alliance, having been CEO at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group for 9 years and System leader at Dorset Integrated Care System for 4 years.

Commenting on his new role Tim advised, “Having been a Trustee at Lewis-Manning for nearly 2 years, I’ve seen first-hand the extraordinary care and support that they give to their patients.  It is a real honour to be able to step up to the role of Deputy Chair of the Board and support the charity with their continued expansion and growth. It’s exciting times for the charity!”

Hospice CEO Clare Gallie said, “We are thrilled to be announcing these two new roles, both Tim and Kate are huge assets to our Board of Trustees providing invaluable knowledge and experience.”
